Amber Fears For Her Life In Prison

Amber Portwood is officially in prison....
And she regrets her decision to endure prison over rehab just days after arriving. It seems that Amber did not really think this whole prison thing through. She thought it would be similar to County Jail and she couldn't have been more wrong.

Turns out she is a target for other inmates due to her fame. A source tells OK! Magazine: "She knows she's a target for the other inmates and she really is scared for her life. She's been having panic attacks and is convinced she's going to die before she gets out."

Amber's brother Shawn explains to Reality Weekly that "she threw in the towel. She did it on purpose because she wanted to give up."

Maybe all that Krav Maga and Kick-Boxing lessons will come in handy when she needs to defend herself from the other inmates. Hopefully she can hold on for the 2 years or so she is estimated to serve. She should be able to get another 30 days cut from her sentencing for completing an on-site drug rehabilitation program.

  1. Get your facts straight. She's still sitting in Madison County Jail. go to www.madisoncountyindiana.us and click on housed inmates. As of 6/8/12 @ 6:20pm, she's still in there. So as for this story. it's false.

  5. She deserves what she gets. What a dumbass. And she did not "throw the towel in" - that's just another Portwood excuse.

And Shawn is also buddies with Gary now - yes - that is right. Shawn, who used to diss Gary pretty hard core (even called him a fame whore etc) is now buddies with him.

    Retards.

    1. I hate judgemental people like you. It's obvious you don't know anything about her situation, you don't know what it is to live with an addiction AND a mental illness. I hope karma bites you back in the behind for being such an A-Hole.

    2. Or how about people are sick of the excuses. Mental illness is legit, BUT you can go and get treatment for that, IF YOU TRY. But the addiction, you bring that on YOURSELF. No one forces anyone to start anything, and if that addictive personality runs in your family, then um DUH you stay the hell away from it.

    3. Get with the program, Shawn and Gary have been friends since before Gary and Amber ever got together. Amber knew Gary as Shawn's friend...Gary called for Shawn one day and when he wasn't home, he and Amber wound up chatting and decided to get together and hang out...that's how this whole trainwreck began!

  6. I doubt she'll complete anything. She can't even get her GED. When has she ever thought anything through. She's awesome

  7. Prison is not a walk in the park, it is called PRISON for a reason. My best friend spent a year in prison for drugs and she still says it was the worst thing to ever happen to her. She litterally had to fight for her life everyday in that place and she was just another girl in the system walking through those doors. Amber should of really thought harder about her decsion before she made it.

  10. No, Amber did not think her decision though thoroughly. She is human and makes mistakes just like we ALL do. I feel for her and her family, especially her daughter, Leah. She needs help and prison is not the cure. She needs more support and less negativity from everyone. Stay strong, Amber!!

  11. Amber is mentally ill. Mentally ill people make bad decisions based on the pain they are feeling at the time. To her, no prison was worse than the demons in her mind. A psychiatric placement would have been more suitable than jail. My question is not did raising Leah cause her to end up in prison, but did filming for Teen Mom cause it or exacerbate it. She wouldn't have gotten in trouble for hitting Gary had it not been filmed and she would have had a much harder time affording the drugs.

    1. But if she wasn't forced to face her consequences for hitting Gary, isn't it entirely possible that something worse may have happened...?

  13. I checked both links you guys posted and it says she is in both places as of 6/20. So she probably is in prison now, but who cares? Why are we arguing like children about a situation that quite frankly has nothing to do with any of us? If you're not looking up how she's doing because you actually care for her well being, then you shouldn't even bother reading these updates. As far as me, i hope she gets out and turns her life around, so she can give all you assholes the finger. *EVERYONE MAKES MISTAKES* and if you have never been in her situation, you have no place to comment.

  15. A couple years back I would have been putting Amber down like the rest of you assholes. However, I'm now married with a man who's family deals with similar issues. Mental illness & drug abuse go hand in hand simply because everyday is a constant struggle & being high helps them deal with it I guess. They can go through tons of prescriptions trying to find the right medication. Some choose the "easy" way out & choose drugs like vicodens, oxis, ect. Its really sad because its NOT the solution. Jail isn't

  17. It is such a sad situation. Poor Leah. I have no pity for someone that has a beautiful daughter and selfishly chooses drugs over her baby. Mental illness or not...there is NO high worth jeopardizing the relationship between you and your child. Amber has over and over proven to everyone on national television that she does NOT put Leah as her first priority. Whats even sadder is that MTV continues to profit off of this disaster of a family. Amber should have been removed from the show and the violence with Gary should have never been aired because in ten years, none of us will remember or care but Leah is going to have her first shitty years of life ready and available on DVD. Her family dysfunction and all her mothers issues to watch word for word and relive over and over. It's pretty sick.

  18. Who the hell are you people to judge! People make mistakes!!! The only reason you're on this site bashing Amber is because you like the confrontation, you like arguing with complete strangers online...get a life!
P.s Amber is a good mom, you all seen it, just because her and Gary didn't get a long...she still was wonderful with her daughter!!!
