Where is Jordan Howard Now?

I had the opportunity to speak with Jordan Howard (Season 4 of 16 & Pregnant) and ask her a few questions about where she is in life now and how she felt about her episode.

If you remember, Jordan's mother and Tyler did not get along and he wasn't even allowed inside the house! This episode caused a lot of controversy and debate regarding racism. You can watch Jordan's episode here.

Jordan and boyfriend Tyler are now engaged and doing great! Jordan's mom even gets along with Tyler just fine. Apparently filming just so happened to be during a time where the relationship was strained.
"My mom got Tyler a job to work with her... we all get along fantastic."

As far as school and work, Tyler has 2 jobs, and Jordan is going to school to be a dental assistant. They both have graduated high-school.

I asked Jordan what she thought of her episode of 16 & Pregnant.
"Even though I was the one being taped... the show left out a lot of serious things and watching the show seemed confusing to me."

I asked her what her thoughts were about the public's reaction to the racism that was involved between her family and her boyfriend Tyler... Her reaction shocked me a bit.
"I don't see anything racist about my episode. I feel that those people are ignorant."
I pointed out the parts of the show where her mother says things like "this isn't a white home" or "how is he going to raise a black baby?" and the constant calling of Tyler "White Boy." She simply said that "It was to be funny. Nothing Serious." She still maintains that her mom is no racist.

Something we didn't see on the show? Their son Chase was diagnosed with Pyloric Stenosis and stopped breathing multiple times during the first month of his life. (from choking on spit up) This is why she needed to take time off of school. This was about the time that Tyler was not coming around very much due to the tension between he and the family. Luckily Chase is doing great now!

  1. Pyloric Stenosis has nothing to do with breathing, or would cause one to stop breathing. Just pointing that out...

    1. Yeah I have no idea, that is what she told me, I didn't even know what it was till you pointed that out and I looked it up. I'll ask her what she meant.

  2. If he was vomiting a lot from the Pyloric Stenosis, that could cause him to choke on his spit up... Just pointing that out...

    1. That first comment was before I updated the entry to explain it. why be snarky to another anonymous poster? lol

  3. Well if the poster knew what pyloric stenosis is then she would know why is caused him to choke. Maybe someone should know what she's talking about before she posts. My daughter had it to and she choked all the time before she had the surgery

  4. Not racist... interesting. I bet if Tyler's parents had been the one making the comments, or calling Jordan the black girl, then that would have been racism in her eyes! Note to Jordan: you do not have to be white to make racial comments. This was one of the hardest 16 & Pregnant episodes to watch because of how Jordan's family bullied Tyler. Props to him for sticking it out and staying with her. I'm glad they are accepting him now.

    1. You are totally right, it seems that no one understands that ALL negative comments toward another race are racist, not just when white people do it. I had a roommate that was black that bullied me continuously, was extremely racist all over facebook making comments about how I was stupid because I'm white, calling me white girl, you name it. She constantly accused me of being racist when I told her to ask me if she could use my stuff..Jordan's episode was difficult to watch because her mom is so ignorant about race, and just the fact that he should have been involved from day one despite their differences.

    2. I thought this episode had multiple instances of racism and the Howard family reinforced many negative stereotypes about African Americans Jordans mother is portrayed as an ignorant manipulative bully and her brothers manage to act like thugs is no wonder the relationship was strained and the Howard family should evaluate their role in causing the problems

  7. HUGE props to Tyler! She seriously said her mom is not racist? Saying things like she did in that tone was not to be "funny" sweetheart you are not fooling anyone and EVERYONE will agree that she is totally racist and controlling. I'm happy to see your mom stopped being such a cunt. And that your family is going strong, I hope you realize that you are a bi-racial couple with a mixed child and you choose a different path in parenting than your ridiculous mother. Lucky you have Tyler to be the voice of reason!

  9. Jordan's mom was unbearable... but it's all about upbringing. I can't believe Tyler put up with all that. That guy is a patient and caring man...

I hope Jordan matures and realizes how bad of a person her mother is.... The end of the episode was the worst; where you saw how she had accepted her mom's warped view of reality. Quite sad really.

  10. I have to say i personally thought she was being racist. How was she playing around when she was saying all that stuff in such an angry way. My child is bi-racial and not once has my family or tha father of my child's family made comments like tht and they would all say those were racist remarks. But on another note thank god that cute little boy is doing better. Best of luck to the family and it's great knowing they are all getting along now.

  12. Do your homework. African Americans always want to blame the white man for slavery. Look WAY WAY back and you will see that it was BLACK people selling THEIR OWN PEOPLE to the white man TO BE SLAVES, and another thing, MEXICANS were treated just as horribly as blacks. EUROPEANS enslaved Hispanics as well.

I find it ironic that "back in the day" blacks were afraid of whites. Always deterring their children away from "the white man". Now it is the whites who are afraid of blacks always deterring their children away from "the black man". GROW UP PEOPLE!! Peel our skin away and we all have the same insides and the one thing we have in common is this EARTH

I have been a teen mom and the bottom line is it is HARD and the last thing you need to do is settle down. At that age men are like tattoos....the tattoo you want at 18 is not the tattoo that you want at 28. you own it to yourself and you kid to find out who you are and raise that child to the BEST of your ability. MEN complicate that drive.

    2. Gelina V could kiss my ass. One of the main issues with man kind is the fact that alot of us lack sympathy and compassion. You have no right to voice your opinion on the African American community and especially our history. My ancestors helped built America and many many many years later their people are still being treated like outsiders. So with that being said ... If us "blacks" have any kind of anger than its because of that and people like you who has an "its all in the past" kind of attitude. By the way what you said in my opinion had little to nothing to do with Jordans mom being racist.

  13. I wouldn't go so deep into racism like you are Gelina...everyone has their own PERSONAL experiences towards it and it is a SENSITIVE issue so don't go around shouting blacks whites mexicans and just understand that its a touchy subject especially in the USA...disgraceful..oh and being a teen mum is nothing to go around proclaiming like an olympic record achievement lol

  14. It IS a touchy subject. Why should one group always speak of it, while others just need to shut up about their own experiences? Pleeez.

  16. Gelina...Africans sold Hebrew Israelites to slavery. Although both cultures are similar in appearance, they are different. This is why it is speculated that all Black people are from Africa, and Africans sold their own people to slavery. The Hebrew Israelites are the people who were led by Moses. They fled to the region called Africa to try and blend in, but the Africans knew the Hebrews were not like them, so they sold us. Black people today are descendants of the Hebrew Israelites that were sold into slavery. We are not African.

    1. African tribes sold other conquered tribes into slavery, not just hebrew israelites.
